When a custom Akidos Studio order may be changed, cancelled, reprinted, replaced, or refunded.
Most items are manufactured for one customer. A conforming custom item becomes final sale when production begins, but manufacturing defects, material nonconformance, shipping damage, and rights that cannot legally be waived remain covered.
You may withdraw an unapproved project request at any time. A file upload or saved quote request does not require you to purchase.
If Akidos declines a project before payment, no charge will be made. If a payment was collected in error, it will be returned to the original payment method.
Request cancellation immediately by email and include the order number. After payment but before production begins, Akidos will cancel the order and refund the amount paid, less any documented, nonrecoverable cost already committed for the order where permitted by law.
Examples include special-order material, paid design or outsourced work already performed, nonrefundable carrier labels, and order-specific purchases. We will identify and explain any deduction; ordinary overhead is not treated as a cancellation fee.
Production begins when order-specific CAD or design work, special-material ordering or preparation, machine setup, printing, post-processing, finishing, quality work, or outsourced manufacturing starts. After that point, a custom item that materially conforms to the approved written specifications is final sale and is not returnable for change of mind, color or size preference, changed measurements, fit, or no longer needing the item.
Customer-requested changes may require a revised quote and schedule. Work and nonrecoverable costs already completed remain chargeable. Akidos may voluntarily offer a partial credit when practical, but is not required to do so except where applicable law requires a remedy.
Inspect the order promptly. If a part does not materially match the approved written specifications or has a manufacturing defect, contact Akidos within 14 calendar days of pickup or delivery and provide the order number, clear photos, and a description of the issue. A latent defect that could not reasonably be found during that period should be reported promptly after discovery.
Do not discard, alter, install, repair, finish, or return the affected item without instructions. Akidos may require reasonable inspection or return and will choose an appropriate remedy based on the issue: adjustment, repair, rework, reprint, replacement, partial refund, or refund of the affected item. The remedy will be completed within a reasonable time. Normal process characteristics disclosed before purchase are not defects.
A part is not defective merely because it does not fit or perform when it accurately matches customer-provided files, dimensions, units, tolerances, approved specifications, or incomplete information about intended load or use. Claims also exclude misuse, improper installation or storage, customer modification, and third-party machining, coating, finishing, or repair after delivery.
If Akidos provided paid design work and made an error relative to the agreed written design requirements, we will work in good faith to correct the affected design or manufactured item within the scope of that paid service. Unless separately agreed in writing, printing a customer-supplied design does not make Akidos responsible for the design's fitness for a particular use.
Report visible shipping damage or missing contents within three calendar days of delivery and preserve the packaging, photos, and carrier tracking information. We will assist with the carrier claim and determine whether replacement or refund is appropriate.
An incorrect address supplied by the customer, an unclaimed shipment, or damage after confirmed delivery may require additional payment for replacement or reshipping.
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing time after issuance is controlled by the payment provider and the customer’s financial institution.
This policy does not limit cancellation, refund, warranty, or other consumer rights that cannot legally be waived. Contact [email protected] with the order number before filing a payment dispute so we can investigate and provide the applicable remedy.
